Sharon’s practice in Family Law is focused on settlement
of issues relating to children, support and property through negotiation,
collaborative practice and mediation.
Collaborative Practice resolves issues of separating families
without going to court, in an atmosphere which promotes dignity
and respect. The process provides an opportunity to preserve family
relationships where possible and minimize the emotional and financial
costs of separation and divorce.
The collaborative approach is well suited to the negotiation of
Cohabitation Agreements and Marriage Contracts.
Sharon is a family mediator who provides closed mediation for
parties who wish to reach a facilitated settlement.
Prior to law school, Sharon was a therapist, trainer, and consultant.
Sharon is a founding member and past Chair of Collaborative Practive
Toronto, and a founding member and Director of the Ontario Collaborative
Law Federation. She has been counsel to the Complaints Review
Commission for the Law Society of Upper Canada and a panel lawyer
for the Office of the Children's Lawyer.
