Mary practises in Estate and personal tax planning, with a focus
on Wills, Estates, Trusts, Family Business Planning, Personal
Tax Planning, Estate Litigation, and Estate Mediation.
Mary is the 2005-2006 President of the Estate Planning Council
of Toronto, and the past chair of the Certification of Estate
Specialist Programme of the Law Society of Upper Canada.
Mary is the co-author of O’Brien’s
Encyclopedia of Forms (Division V, Wills and Trusts, Vol.1)
with Jennifer Pfuetzner, and Wills and
Powers of Attorney, First Interview to Final Report (third
edition).
Mary was a lecturer and instructor at the Bar Admission Course
for many years and also lectures for many organizations such as
the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society, Osgoode Hall Law
School Continuing Legal Education Programmes, The University of
Toronto Law School, The Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners,
and The Advocates’ Society.
Mary also lectures on a voluntary basis for community groups such
as the local Associations
for Community Living, and the Ontario
Heart and Stroke Foundation, and has volunteered for C.L.A.S.P.,
the 519 Clinic,
the Kidney Foundation ,
the Salvation Army and similar charities.
Mary conducts estate mediation through the Centre
for Estate Mediation®.
