Professional Experience

Helen specializes in the areas of Family and Estate Law, both in court and outside of court.

Helen’s Family Law practice is focused on the resolution of family law matters by negotiation, collaborative practice or court applications.

Helen’s Estate Law practice is focused on the preparation of Wills and Powers of Attorney for Personal Care and Property, dependants’ support claims, applications for guardianship and related capacity issues.

Helen brings a unique perspective to her practice, having represented children in the areas of custody and access disputes and child welfare for the Office of the Children’s Lawyer since 1989.

Helen is a founding member of Collaborative Practice Toronto. Her training includes Life Skills Coach Training (YWCA), Family Life Education (Jewish Family & Child Service) and Mediation. Helen's specialized training and skills enable her to bring an added dimension and creative outlook to the resolution of disputes among family members.

Helen is a former member of the Canadian Institute of International Affairs and has been a volunteer for community groups such as the YWCA, Holy Blossom Temple, C.L.A.S.P., and The 519 Clinic, and a member of the Board of Directors of New Directions.
